Kylie L. Hamilton’s journey into law was shaped by an early exposure to the courtroom, where she watched her mother, a lawyer, navigate the intricacies of legal disputes with grace and skill. Growing up surrounded by the profession, Kylie developed a deep understanding of its power to advocate for those without a voice—a commitment she brings to her practice every day.
A seasoned attorney with a sharp focus on complex litigation, construction law, and commercial bankruptcy, Kylie joined Smith Debnam with a wealth of experience. She currently works within the firm’s Construction and Leasing practice group, where she handles a variety of legal matters, including construction disputes, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy issues, and lien negotiations. Her extensive work in commercial bankruptcy, including Chapter 11 and Chapter 12 matters, and her prior experience in insurance defense and civil litigation have equipped her with the tools to navigate the toughest challenges for her clients.
Kylie’s professional approach is rooted in her belief that a lawyer’s success is defined not just by victories in court but by the relationships they build with clients and colleagues alike. “We’re a team,” she says, emphasizing her collaborative style. For Kylie, it’s about making clients feel heard and valued, ensuring they have a clear understanding of their legal standing and the steps ahead. She’s known for being a zealous advocate, yet a gracious and reasonable adversary in negotiations. This combination allows her to deliver optimal results while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Clients appreciate Kylie’s dedication to their needs, whether it’s providing insightful counsel on complex legal issues or guiding them through the intricacies of bankruptcy or construction law. Her ability to listen actively and offer thoughtful solutions has earned her the trust of a diverse range of clients, from individuals to large organizations, all facing unique legal challenges. Kylie earned her Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University School of Law in 2020 and her Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and History from Alma College in 2017.
