(November 19, 2014) – The Law Office of Smith Debnam today announced that firm senior partner, Rose Stout, a board-certified family law specialist, has been selected as a 2014 North Carolina Lawyers Weekly Women of Justice. The Women of Justice Awards recognize women who have demonstrated leadership, integrity, service, sacrifice, and accomplishment in improving the quality of justice and exemplifying the highest ideals of the legal profession.
The awards reach out to women in various segments of the legal community across the state including business, public service, legal professionals, and the bench. Stout joins 12 other litigation practitioners who are being honored from across the state.

Stout began practicing law in 1985 and earned her Family Law Specialist certification from the North Carolina State Bar Board of Legal Specialization in 1991. She represents clients in all aspects of family law including divorce, custody, property division, child support, and alimony. As a mediator and experienced arbitrator, Stout frequently assists other attorneys and clients avoid costly and protracted court proceedings by helping the parties involved resolve their differences through cooperative negotiations.
Stout has earned a North Carolina Super Lawyers rating every year since 2006 and has appeared on the Best Lawyers in America list since 2008. In 2014, she was selected as Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite for Family Law, an award that honors the state’s top Lawyers.
