(October 6, 2023) — Smith Debnam Attorneys at Law is pleased to announce that Connie Carrigan, a seasoned attorney with the firm, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for Marbles Kids Museum. Carrigan will be contributing her expertise to the Board’s Finance Committee during her three-year term.
Marbles Kids Museum, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is recognized as one of the top family destinations in North Carolina. Formed in 2007 through the merger of two local museums, Marbles has since grown into a vibrant destination for hands-on, minds-on learning.
In a statement regarding her appointment, Carrigan said, “I have supported Marbles from the sidelines for a number of years. I am looking forward to contributing in a meaningful way to Marbles’ mission of sparking imagination, discovery, and learning through play in service to its diverse population of families, school groups, and community organizations.”
During her term on the Board’s Finance Committee, Carrigan will play a crucial role in reviewing the museum’s financial performance, recommending sound financial policies, goals, and budgets, and providing expertise on audits, IRS tax filings, and the annual budget.
Carrigan is a highly accomplished attorney with extensive experience providing advice and counsel to employers in the areas of employment policies and procedures, contract negotiations, and agreements, in addition to representing clients in the areas of estate planning and trust and estate administration. She is an active member of various professional organizations, including the North Carolina Bar Association, the Wake County Bar Association, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Primerus Labor and Employment Law Group, among others.
