Raleigh, N.C. (January 9, 2025) — Smith Debnam is pleased to announce that partner Byron Saintsing has been named to Business North Carolina’s 2025 Legal Elite in the Construction Law category. Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite, now in its 24th year, honors attorneys selected by their peers in an annual survey. This year marks the third time Saintsing has been recognized among Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite.
Saintsing leads the construction law, commercial and business litigation, and commercial creditor bankruptcy practice group at Smith Debnam. With over 35 years of experience, he is licensed to practice in North Carolina and admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western districts of North Carolina and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Throughout his career, he has lectured extensively and contributed to numerous publications, including editing materials on North Carolina’s adoption of Article 2A of the Uniform Commercial Code.
Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite employs a rigorous process facilitated by DataJoe Research to identify outstanding lawyers across the state. Only about 3% of North Carolina attorneys receive this recognition each year.
Saintsing earned his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1988 and his Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University in 1985.
